Music plays an important role in our lives!

Tell me what genre(s) you listen to, why you like certain artists, which concerts you've been to.  I want you to help me understand your musical preference.

Can you include a playlist? What are seven (7) songs you are currently listening to?

  1. The light of seven(game of thrones)
The winds of winter(game of thrones)
    Truth(game of thrones)
    Brother's keeper(uncharted 4)
    Cut to the chase(uncharted 4)
    Winter has come(game of thrones)
The fall of highgarden(game of thrones)

These pieces(not songs because there aren't any words in there) are very inspirational and epic to me. They don't have any words which allows you to do the story along to the piece. Songs these days have words which describes a story but it doesn't allow you to think of the different scenarios which it offers you. These songs are also one of the best pieces in game of thrones and uncharted 4. That's why they're awesome to me and I hope that they're awesome to others.

    1. I like how you took the subject of talking about songs and used it for pieces from your favorite TV shows and video games

    2. How am I not surprised that most of the songs are from game of thrones? Great explanation of how music influences a story.

I wake up and listen to some of these songs and I go to sleep listening to some of these songs. These songs are the type of songs I can listen to no matter what mood I am in.

These few songs are songs that I’ve been listening to recently, I’ve constantly played these songs over and over. I listen to these songs at all times in the day, when I wake up, when I go to bed, and during the day at school. I can listen to these songs no matter what mood I’m in. I think that music really helps me focus, concentrate and calm me down.

I like these songs because they are either emotional or really motivating and just makes me want to finnaly do something with my life. I listen to music all day and all night because it makes my life easier. I do chores easier because of music and I can workout and be super motivated to work my body. I like to study and listen to music, it keeps me focused.

  5. A few Songs: Viva la vida, hymn for the weekend, Something just like this, Talk, Speed Of Sound, Yellow, The Scientist and Paradise. I also like a few of Shawn's songs, such as The life of the party and Mercy.

These are few songs I keep on my Spotify playlist. I like these songs cause they just make me feel good. Whenever down, I just click my playlist and shazam. It feels like everything starts to vanish and I start to calm down. I also find music helps me as I study as I am more concentrated and all the things going on my mind just disappear.

I listen to almost all genres, and I have a liking for old songs and acoustic sounding songs. Lyrics are also really important for me when it comes to music. I like songs with meanings. I'm also so obsessed with Ed Sheeran! I love him so much and he's the really the only person I'd like to see in concert. Music is really important to me. I'm always either listening to music, humming or singing.

I used to listen to edm because my brother and i used to jam out i put all the time. Although many if not all of my friends listen to rap and they persuaded me to listen to rap. Now rap is my go to genre when listening to music. I've never been to a music concert in my life. Although i would love to got to a drake or 21 savage concert in the future.

    Take it Back (Logic)
    Distance (Killy)
    6 Man (Drake)
Perfect Timing (NAV and Metro Boomin)

As you can see my favorite genre of music is Hip-Hop/Rap. I only started listening to this kind of music in the past 2 years. I like this type because of all the clever rhymes that they are able to come up with. I really like Logic because he believes that everyone is equal and should be treated equally. This is a very big theme in the song 1-800-273-8255. He keeps repeating that everyone should be treated equally and unfortunately this isn't the case in many places in the world.

    Congratulations (Post Malone)
    Deja Vu (Post Malone)
XO Tour Lif3 (Lil Uzi Vert)
    Mask Off (Future)
    Head Huncho (Offset)

I absolutely adore each and every one of these songs because they all make me feel a certain way. My favorite song of all is "New Rules" by Dua Lipa. I love this song because it has a good beat and the lyrics are well written. I like the choreography in the music video.

  14. At my house the radio is on every single day during the entire day. We listen to the beat 92.5 which is pop music. Therefore, pop is my favorite genre! I also like rock music because on the drive to and from school my brother and my dad force me to listen to it. My two least favorite genres are country and rap music. I don’t know many songs from either genre because I rarely listen to it. Music is very important to me because I am surrounded by it everyday. It is a way to express yourself without talking and depending on the song it can really change your mood. Without music the world would be so dull!

Some of my favorite pop songs currently are:
    - Feels - Calvin Harris
    - What lovers do - Maroon 5
    - Uptown Funk - Bruno Mars
    - Malibu - Miley Cyrus
    - Praying - Kesha
    - The Cure - Lady Gaga
    - What about us - Pink

  15. 911/Mr lonely (Tyler the creator)
    Norf Norf (Vince staples)
    M.A.A.D city (Kendrick Lamar)
Cocoa butter kisses (Chance the rapper)
    Really doe (Danny Brown)
    3005 (Childish Gambino)
    Temptation (Joey Bada$$)

I pretty much only listen to rap music nowadays but I still like finding new talent. I love all types of rap but these are songs that stand out to me. They are a combination of new and old that I listen to all day. A lot of these artists are very new that I just discovered by going on YouTube and clicking on random videos . I like songs that tell a story but I can still jam to and pretty much all these songs do that.

  16. jocelyn flores (xxxTENTACION)
    first day out(Tee Grizzly)
    distance (killy)
    killamonjaro (killy)
from the d to the a (Tee Grizzly)
    Gucci gang (Lil Pump)

There are many more that I listen to often but these are some of my favorites. the first two I enjoy because they tell a story which keeps me interested and everything is better when its true. the next two I like because killy is good at building up his songs, sometimes the beat will slow but grow and then he'll frequently alternate the speeds. and finally the last ones are because they get me motivated and excited because of how fast pace they are, they might not have the best lyrics but the beat and the way they say it is the what I like about it.

  17. Attention
    Slow hand
    There’s nothing holding me back
    Strip that down
    Feel it still
    Wild thought
    Shape of you

Notice anything about, them? They are the top seven song on radio and I like to hear them and I only hear songs on the radio. I don’t have a phone to hear any music at home, just an ipad were my parents play their own favorite song. The reason I can’t use it is that it has a password and I only could listen to songs on the radio when we’re on the car going somewhere.

  18. 1-800-273-8255
    Feels
    Sign of the Times
    Wild thoughts
    Say you won't let go
    Don't you want me baby
    Don't stop believing

I really like these songs because I find them catchy. The last 2 are older songs and I listen to them because whenever I am in the car with my dad he plays those 2 songs and my siblings and I really like them. The type of music I do not like are country and heavy metal. I love all kinds of music other than those 2 and I listen to music every day.

  19. 1. Ben's my friend(Sun Kil Moon)
    2. Birds of Flims (Sun Kil Moon)
    3. Carmen (Lana Del Rey)- Born To die Album also
    4. Pumped up Kicks (Foster the people)
    5. Riptide (Vance Joy)
    6. 50 ways to say goodbye (Train)
    7. Lost Stars (Adam Levine)
    8. Somebody that I used to know(Gotye)
    9. Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol)
    10. Rhinestone Cowboy (Glen Campbell)

Now, most of these bands may seem obscure, but I guarantee you have heard most of these songs and simply forgot the title. For me, there is no definitive genre that I listen to exclusively. I am a very big fan of the pop group Maroon 5, I am only twenty percent ashamed of this. Though I do love their music, I do not only listen to them. For example, only one of their songs is on my playlist. These songs make me feel calm and very serene, like the songs from Sun Kil Moon. These are not songs that follow any verses or choruses, they sound like a man simply talking about what he's doing, which is basically what it is. There is actually a part of the song where he just talks about how he ate blue crab cakes for breakfast! Now, I can't go on to explain every song and why I like them. One thing I will say is that I hope at least one person who reads this blog finds as much enjoyment out of these songs as I have. Enjoy!

    5. Stay ( Zedd)
    6. Sign of the times (Harry Styles)
7.Cry baby ( Cage the Elephant)

I like multiple genres such as pop some rap. My favorite band at the moment is Cage the Elephant. This band has been around for many years but not many people have heard of this band. Some of their songs have been featured in car commercials and other commercials. There music is great to dance to, since I am a dancer. My friends from dance introduced me to this band and I've loved it ever since. Their songs are more rock then I would naturally chose but the beat and songs are catchy. My whole family loves this band so it's great to listen to.

  21. I love listening to music. I listen to all kinds of music because my friends all like different genres. For example, one of my friends listens to country, another one listens to classics tunes (hippie music) and then you have one who listens to rap. I am surrounded by tons of different songs that expand my music library. There are some songs that my friends play that I think I would never like but that I really end up enjoying. I hope you enjoy my very different and eclectic playlist!

    Wagon Wheel (Darius Rucker)
    Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi)
    Distance (Killy)
    White Teeth Teens (Lorde)
    Rockstar (Post Malone)
    Toes (Zac Brown Band)

  22. I used to listen to a lot of music, but honestly, I’ve grown out of all the music I used to listen to. I was never really into a certain genre, I just listened to whatever sounded good. Back a long time ago, I used to listen to an artist named Alan Walker, who had a few good songs, and I also think that Khalid (not DJ Khalid) has some good music too. Still, there aren’t any songs I listen to anymore on repeat to put into a playlist.

  23. Havana - Camila Cabello ft. Young Thug
    Giants - Lights
    Galway Girl - Ed Sheeran
Dusk till Dawn - ZAYN ft. Sia
The Ocean - Mike Perry ft. Shy Marten
    Perfect - Ed Sheeran
    Feels - Calvin Harris

The genre I usually listen to is pop. I like many different artists like Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and other pop singers. This is because I usually just listen to the radio and some of these songs play a lot on the radio or used to play a lot, but some of these songs I found on apple music also. I have only been to one concert, and it was for my 12th birthday. I went to go see Shawn Mendes in Toronto with my friend, and we had a lot of fun.

My playlist is huge. I have over 100 songs but I've chosen some of my all-time favorites. As you can see I have a variety of songs that I listen to. For the most part the song I listen to are new because I update my playlist frequently. As you can tell I mainly listen to rappers. I'm saying rappers because some songs aren't rap but they're by rapper who I follow anyway. Sometimes the slower songs are the better ones (Jocelyn Flores, The Way Life Goes, 1-800-273-8255 etc.). If I had to pick one song as my favorite one it would be Perplexing Pegasus by Rae Sremmund. I would pick this song because it could be a slow song but could also be rap.

  26. I generally like upbeat music that you can dance to that makes me happy. Right now, I listen to hip hop/rap music; most of the new songs. I like all genres and as far as artists go, I LOVE Ariana Grande and Drake. Most of my favourite songs are by Ariana Grande but the orginial songs I’ve always really loved are:
    1. The half by Dj snake, Jeremih, Young thug
    2. Umbrella by Rihanna
    3. Digits by young thug
    4. Please don’t stop the music by Rihanna
    5. Marvin’s Room by Drake
I love all of those songs very much, they are classic Mackenzie songs.

  27. Castle on the hill by Ed Sheeran
    Barcelona by Ed Sheeran
    River by Bishop Briggs
End of my days by Michael Schulte
    Wildfire by Seafret
    Praying by Kesha
    What about us by Pink
    Whenever, Wherever by Shakira

I don’t really listen to music that often other then when I’m either walking home or really bored and have nothing better to do which is normally never because I always find something better to do. I don’t really listen to a specific genre of music I kind of just listen to whatever comes up on Spotify or like the radio or whatever. I haven’t really been to many concerts yet, however some of my teammates really want to go to the Shakira concert at the Bell Center in January because that was our theme this past summer but I’m not really sure yet.

  28. I love old and new music. I'll listen to any type of music from whoever except i can not stand justin bebver and country music, they both make me wanna rip my ears out of my head. But other then that, i love music. Music has helped me through some really hard times in my life and it really means something special to me. Music has helped me stay in connection with one of my best friends because she has the best taste in music and she sends me awesome songs to listen to. I personally, don't like sharing my music because i listen to songs that mean something to me and i feel like as soon as i share that song with someone else, it makes it less special and less meaningful. So i'm going to share songs i really like, but not my favorites because those are for me. sowrry
Carry on my Wayward Son (Kansas)

  29. I have a large pool of song genres I enjoy listening to, but I especially love ones that have choruses that allow me to easily daydream an impossible scenario, or beat drops that(with good headphones) can physically move my body, because I like that feeling. These are songs I usually find myself blasting throughout the house when I’m all alone at home, so it’s easy to get those feelings.
