THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE (1) BLOG THIS WEEK.
Early in the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Montag is questioned by Clarisse about whether or not "he is happy" (7). Montag feels as if he is being challenged by this "pure" teenager.
Who do you feel challenges you? On the blog site, write about someone you feel challenges you. Explain your reasoning. (It could be a friend, a parent, a coach, a sibling, a teacher, etc)
Plus, take a SELFIE with the person that challenges you.
E-mail the selfie to gkatz@lbpearson.ca
Good Luck :)
That is a very interesting question. I feel like the person who challenges me most is definitely my Mother. Whether she's making me do extra homework just to prove to her I know what I'm doing or just nagging me to clean my room, I always feel challenged by her. Also, feeling challenged by her isn't a bad thing and doesn't damage our relationship. She does it because she loves and cares about me. Being challenged by someone is an interesting feeling and makes you learn more about yourself.
ReplyDeleteNice blog!!! :)
DeleteMine to nice blog.
DeleteI can't disagree with anything you say. Nice idea too.

DeleteGreat blog! My mom is the same way
DeleteI would say that my brother challenges me. My brother is an olympic athlete who knows what it takes to excel in sports. So hes is always pushing me to become a better hockey player. He's always giving his all so that i succeed and to make sure i give one hundred percent every time i'm on the ice. As brothers we do enjoy eachothers company making jokes and having a good time. Although once it's time to train its all seriousness.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to have a sibling that helps you reach goals and learn new things! Nice blog!
DeleteLet's be honest, most of the blogs will say their sibings and i will say the same. The person that challenges me the most is my 2nd oldest brother, Fred. Fred is better at me at everything. He's better at me with sports, he's better at me with video games, he's better with me at memes, he's better at me in school, etc...He's always in a competition mood even when were playing in a game where were on the same side. He is my biggest competition, but at least I can talk to girls. He can't even shake hands with them.
ReplyDeleteI have two people that challenge me in my life and they are my parents. My parents challenge me everyday to be a better person, to do better in school, sports, and in everything I do in life. It’s important to have people that challenge you because they make you realize your full potential. They also help you obtain more skills and set better and higher goals for yourself. I can’t think of anyone in life who challenges me more than my parents and I’m so grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's important to have people pushing you to be a better person. Without that, we would have nothing to strive for. Great blog:)
DeleteParents play such an important role in our lives and we have to be more grateful for them, great blog

ReplyDeleteIf there is one person in my life who challenges me the most it would definitely be my dad.My mom does also challenge me quite a bit but not as much as my dad does. He has been my soccer coach for 11 years and he always demands more of me on the field even when I am doing my best. He also challenges me in waterpolo and he isn't even my coach. He also challenges me very much in school because he wants me to do the best can. It is almost as if he expects perfection from me sometimes.
ReplyDeletethat's great its good to have to have a parent that pushes you do your best. My parents expect the same from me too.
DeleteI completely agree. Parents are there to challenge you and push you to do your best!
DeleteMy brother is one of the people who challenged me. It’s because he likes to annoy me a lot and we some times fight with each other. I usually win be tickling him on the side or him running away from me. In a sort of way, he challenges me just for the fun of it. Despite the fact that in rare occasion, we sometime get hurt. We don’t really mind it and we just get back together at the end. Sometimes, I’m the one who challenges him because he annoys me a lot. Sometimes I teach him some stuff I know like how the world works and how the universe might end it’s life.
ReplyDeleteAwesome to see you have a close relationship with your brother. If I did too, I probably would've wrote about him. :)
DeleteThe person who challenges me the most in my life is my brother, Ryan. He is 12 years old and goes to Loyola High School. He challenges me because he loves to get on my nerves, like every sibling does. We are extremely close, which is also why he can get on my nerves at times. When my friends are over, he always finds a way to be there and he always wants to go where we go. Like all siblings, we definitely do fight at times which is normal, but he will always end up challenging me and makes us wrestle to settle things (I always win). Even though he can be irritating, my life would be pretty boring without him!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! My brother challenges me alot too.
Deletei completely understand. great blog.
DeleteI think that the people who challenge me the most are my parents. They are always pushing me to do better in school, sports and in other activities. They constantly make me work hard in everything I do. In elementary school, when I didn’t do my homework properly, they would make me redo it until i got it right. I I am happy that I am challenged by them because if I wasn’t I would have no motivation to do anything well.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Great blog!
DeleteI think the person who challenges me the most is definitely my mom. She always wants the best for me, even if I don't agree with her. She has always been there for me and she has always given me the best advice. She never wants me to settle in life. She wants me to be the best version of myself and to be the best I can be. I owe everything to her, all my success in life, everything I have learned and everything I have to learn, it's all because of her. I couldn't be more grateful to have such a strong and brave role model in my life.
ReplyDeleteamazing blog! I couldn't agree more with what you said. :)
DeleteOf all people, my mom Cindy is the one to challenge me the most. Cindy is my step mom, who is married to my mom Jennifer. She challenges me in a positive way, to teach me. She is always challenging me to do do my best. For the 12 years that I have been living with her, she has made an amazing difference in my life. Instead of always doing the minimum, shes challenged me to do the most, she's challenged me to go past my limits and I am super grateful for that!

DeleteGreat way to look at it, Great blog!!!
DeleteDoes Cindy buy you oreos?
DeleteThe person in my life who challenges me the most is definitely my mom. She always wants the best for me and my grades to be the highest. I remember one time I got an 85 in math and she freaked out. For most people that's terrible but my mom challenged me to get a 95 or over. I think it's good to be challenged by someone. It gives motivation to the person and keeps it going. As a kid my mom always bought me games when I did well. It made me keep on going because I had a reason to study and do well. Being challenged is not always a bad thing, it makes us work and feel good when we accomplished the challenge!
ReplyDeletemotivation, very gud

ReplyDeleteThe person that challenges me the most is brother. He is quite good academical and if I ever I struggle with something, he would explain it, guide me and make me do extra questions to ensure that I understand the concept. Though he doesn't recall all the things he's learned, he surely has had a impact for me this year and I am very grateful for what he has done.
ReplyDeleteThat is very good that you and your brother are in a very close bond where you help each other, I don't know many siblings that are willing to help like that
DeleteThat's actually really cool. Great Blog!!!!!!
Deleteso one who comes to mine when I read the question of who challenges me would me one of my closest friends Katrina, who I play ringette with. We encourage and push each other to always do our best and to do even better. We always find our selves competing to better than the other too. Also we just enjoy being together.
ReplyDeletethere are many people who challenge me but i think there is one in particular that would really make me challenge myself or would challenge me is my brother. my whole life its been a competition and because he is older he would usually beat me but all that just challenges me to become better and one day maybe beat him in some things.
ReplyDeleteThat's the same with my brother and I. Well I hope you will be able to beat him in things one day. Great blog!
DeleteWhen I think of someone that challenges me, the first person that comes to mind is my sister. She challenges me to always try my best and to always strive for my goals. If and when I don't understand something, I go to her and ask her for help. She explains it to me, makes sure I really understand it and makes me do more problems and show her that I get it. When she helps me with math problems, she makes me tell her what I think needs to be done and she tells me if it's right or wrong. As sisters, we fight, as every sibling does, but we always laugh and make jokes about/with each other. We love spending time together and we enjoy each other's company, at certain times.
ReplyDeletethere are a lot of people who challenged me and her test my limits. However, one of those people is my best friend Victoria. We met only in the sec 2 last year, however ever since then we have been nearly inseparable. she always encourages me to do better, always guide me towards my best interests and is always there for me no matter what happens in life. she pushes me to my limits and encourage me to do my best all the time, and without her in my life I would be very different than I am today.
ReplyDeleteThats so cute! great job Kass!
DeleteThere are so many people who challenge me in my life however there is one person other than my parents is the artistic director at my dance studio. His name is Claude. He's been the artistic director at my studio for about 10 years. Whenever I'm in class with him, he is always pushing me to do the best I can. He always is correcting my group and I which helps us improve.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It's definitely those kinds of people who help you get better and what you love! Great blog!
DeleteIn my life there are many people that challenge me and motivate me but by far the one that stands out the most is friend Adam. Adam is like a brother to me and me and him motivate and challenge each other to pursue what we want in life and to workout. He motivates me to wake up early in the morning and to do my cardio and workout then to workout together after school. His iconic motto is "No Excuses!" which forces me to not give up when it even when the going gets tough.
ReplyDeleteWow, I known you since the fifth grade, never got a paragraph of how great I am from you, lol triggered.
DeleteI think the people that challenges me most are my friends. I think that it's good to have friends that are always nice and pushing you to get better. If it's either me getting worse on a test/assignment or if it's just me wanting to be better and beat my friends at something there is always competition between us. Another example was when we do some sort of test in just about any class they try to almost motivate me which help quite a bit. All in all my friend are the people who push me the hardest to become better.
ReplyDeleteA person in my life who challenges me is my younger brother. My brother challenges me a lot for sports and academics. My brother and I are competitive like many siblings are and we like to do better than each other in everything. My brother is very athletic and since he is younger than me I can not stand him being better than me at any sport so I always try harder at sports when I am around him... but even if I try very hard there are many sports that he can beat me at without even trying. He is also very considerate about me if I have an upcoming test or exam that he sees I'm stressing for, he will help me with chores so I can study more. I am very grateful for my brother!!
ReplyDeleteOne of the first people to come to mind would be Mr. Canuel. I first met him at the start of grade 8 as my English teacher and later got to know him as a Student Council adviser. I feel challenged by him because of how hard he pushes me to improve as a Student Council member and as an overall person. Thanks to him, I’ve learned a lot about more technology, and still am. Behind that scary reputation he says he has, he’s one of the most trustworthy teachers I know. I’ve had an unforgettable time so far and hope to learn even more than I already have.
ReplyDeleteThough I don't often agree on things with you Ruscitti, this is something I'm on board with. Good idea to do Mr. Canuel for this!
DeleteI totally agree. Mr. Canuel challenges all of his students and it brings out the best in us.
DeleteI feel like one person who really challenges me would be my synchro coach from this past summer. We were a team of 7 very talkative girls ages ranging from 11 to 15. We found it very challenging to actually get work done during practices. My coach pushed us all to be the best of our abilities. However, I feel like I got really close to her. The amount of extra practices we would do just her and I were uncountable. She would always push us all to get to practice on time, let alone to practice period. My coach would always challenge us to do our best. It was also a big challenge to work with a coach who was only three and a half years older than me. However, we got along really well and I think that is also why she pushed me so much at practice. She would constantly keep be after practice to talk about team stuff. We even discussed getting team fish at some point. Her answer was no, but the team all really wanted a team fish. So we got fake team fish. It was not only a challenge for us as athletes to work with a younger and newer coach, but with each other as athletes as everyone on the team had different skill levels. However, my coach made it a really lit summer for me and she really challenged me to be the best I can be.
ReplyDeleteThe person that challenges me is my father. Though most teenagers act like they dislike their parents, we all love them at the end of the day. My dad challenges me in the way that he pushes me to be a better version of myself. Though sometimes I think he's being plain mean, I always come to the conclusion that he does it for my own good. I often show my dad my marks, he doesn't always congratulate me or have much of a reaction, he often tells me ways in which I could do better in a constructive way. He supports me when I'm stressed and he often questions my ideas, and we have a spirited debate. The way he does it isn't mean though, it's him making sure that I always understand the argument I'm making before I argue for it. Though he challenges me every day, he's always there to support me.
ReplyDeleteMy brother always challenges me at everything he is better then me at, so I always lose. Every time I challenge him at something I am good at, he says its not worth is time which is the biggest pile of B.S. but whatever. In some ways I guess it is good that he challenges me because it gives me motivation to set goals in life but it is so darn hard all the time and he laughs at me when I finally bail.
ReplyDeleteHe is stronger, faster, taller, smarter and better at me then most things do to his "natural talent", darn me.
For me, there's not really ‘one’ person that challenges me. I think almost everyone i’ve known has challenged me in some way to make me think.I love surrounding myself with people who challenge me on a day to day basis to make me do more and to achieve more. From friends, family, teachers and random people, they’ve all made me question myself and made me push myself harder academically, athletically, or just in my everyday life.
ReplyDeleteSomeone who's always been pushing me and challenging me (for ringette) is my older sister, Jenna. She knows me well as a ringette player and knows my strengths, weaknesses and limits more than I do myself. She knows when I start to slack off and she doesn't let it slide. Even though I'm often frustrated with her and her demanding expectations, she has helped me become the player I am today because she never accepted anything more than my 100% effort.
